1-2-1 with Brendan Robertson
Working across different industries, top stylist Brendan Robertson gave us an insight on his work and we fell in love with him!
Who are you?
Brendan Robertson (@brendanRmakeup). I’m a hair and make-up artist who works across music, fashion and advertising.
Which hairstyle gives you the most buzz to create?
I love BIG glamorous 60's inspired hair. Everyone went to the hairdressers’ weekly back then and everyone had a DO!
Do you have any memorable moments/ clients or events?
Creating Beatles Sgt. Peppers lookalikes for Paul McCartney’s opening number for Live8. That was also the moment my dad, who is a massive Beatles fan, finally understood what I did for a living!
What’s your top tip for a Summer 2013 hair?
I think girls are very low maintenance with hair at the moment. It's all about letting your roots show, piling it up in a top knot during the day then letting the natural wave do its thing in the evening. It's beach hair without the beach.
What’s your favourite Cloud Nine tool?
I love the Waving Wand. Its huge barrel creates languid waves for unfussy, undone locks.

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Old films especially from the 60's, magazines and music videos. I always check out the shows on style.com too to see where things are heading.
Who are some of your celebrity clients?
Diana Vickers, Dionne Bromfield, Ella Henderson and Angel Haze.
What’s your best kept secret or favourite product?
I use as little product as possible but my fave is Bumble & bumble sumotech, which I use on lon,g tonged hair to create texture and body.
Which celeb would you love to style and why?
I love Katy Perry for her versatility. Her hair always looks amazing and she so courageous with colour!
