First up is the wearable khaki look, ideal for autumn as well as taking your look from day to night. If you’re not quite ready to experiment with dark smokey eyes, but want to make a statement with your look, khaki shades are the perfect choice. Not only are the colours on trend for this season, but they’ll add a touch of colour to your eyes without you having to worry about going too bold as the shades are a smooth transition if you’re used to a more neutral look.

Follow these steps to recreate the look:

1. Start by applying a base colour or eye shadow primer to you the lid of your eye.

2. Line your entire lids with eyeliner and blend in with a blending brush before applying a light khaki shadow to your lid. Continue to apply the shades moving from the inside of your eye towards your ear, starting with the light colours and patting your darkest shade along the outer half of your lash line.

3. Once your shadow has been applied, blend the colours softly so that they transition gradually into a smokey effect.

4. Finally, line your eyes with black eye liner and feather out the edge with an eye shadow brush so that it blends with your smokey look. Apply a couple of layers of mascara along the upper and lower lashes and voila!

If you don’t have our pick of the three most wearable shades, rummage through your makeup bag and use your own selection of bronze, khaki colours. The look is perfect to wear with loose waves as seen on the AW14 runway of the Chloe Paris Fashion Week show.
