Bridal Get The Look - Relaxed Chignon
This chic updo is decidedly romantic and feminine, the perfect look for your big day.
You've got the dress, flowers, venue, GROOM, now its time to concider the most important part of your day.... your hair! Chignons have been popular among brides of all ages worldwide for centuries. They perfectly compliment a delicate gown, in particular a backless number, bringing out the grace and delicacy of the bride’s silhouette. Together with City Brides we've put together a six step guide to perfecting the relaxed chignon.
Brush hair in middle parting before sectioning off two front sections at the crown. Place back section into low ponytail which will form secure base for your updo.
Curl the front two sections using the Original Iron. Hold the Iron vertically to create loose curls, curling backwards from the face. Soft curls can be added to the ponytail if required.
Softly tease the hair at the crown to add height if desired, smoothing out gently with the Tail Comb.
Twist the front sections loosely backwards into your secure ponytail base.
Take small sections of the ponytail and gently twist together, before taking a small strand and holding it securely. Now push the rest of the twist back towards the nape of the neck, before securing with pin. This technique is called ruching.
Place Headpeice or veil as desired to complete the look
