In the Chair Again with Stacey McCormack

Director of Modello Hair Salon & Spa in Edinburgh, and a Cloud Nine Style Ambassador, Stacey has a variety of expertise ranging from salon appointments, session styling and education. Let’s find out more about this wonder woman…

1. Tell us about you and you hairdressing career?

I was 14 when I started my career in hairdressing at Charlie Miller Edinburgh. Hair has always been a passion of mine! From there I quickly gained skills as a stylist and I qualified at 17. I’ve always strived for more, and that’s why I always knew I would have my own salon. I’m so proud of how I went it alone and built Modello Hair Salon & Spa. Six years on, my business is thriving!

I’ve always been interested in education work, so was thrilled to be asked to join the Cloud Nine Salon Session team. Since then, I have been lucky enough to work with Leigh Keates at London Fashion Week, and Angel Montague-Sayers.

2. Which is your favourite hair trend for spring/summer 2015?

This season focuses on effortless looks, such as waves and loose curls.I love undone soft braids at the moment!

3. What is your favourite Cloud Nine product and why?

It has to be the Waving Wand. I use it on most of my clients in and out of the salon.  It's so easy to use and creates soft curls and textured beachy waves.  It also leaves hair with a great shine thanks to the mineral-infused barrel. The new lightweight Cloud Nine Hairdryer is also amazing!

4. Where do you get most of your hair inspiration from?

I’m mostly inspired by what I see on Instagram - from personal style icons to other hairdressers, it’s great coming across different looks that I can try out. I also follow lots of fashion and hairdressing blogs.

5. What’s your top tip for someone who wants to improve his or her hair care routine?

Make sure that you use a good quality hair cleanser and conditioner. Avoid blasting your hair with too much heat daily, and visit your hair salon regularly for cuts and treatments.
