In the chair with…Jodie Austen
One of our brand new Style Ambassadors is the talented Jodie Austen and we caught up with her so you could get to know her a little bit more!
- You are now part of the Cloud Nine team - how do you feel?
I am honoured to be part of the Cloud Nine team! I have followed them since 2012 after learning all about the brand and it’s unique and dedicated journey first hand, from Founder Robert Powls, when he was Guest Speaker at Creative Head’s The Coterie. Powls' passion was inspiring to me then, and it is really exciting to be part of the brand today.
- Why did you want to join the Cloud Nine team?
It is really important to me that I only work with quality professional brands that are dedicated to healthy and beautiful hair. I am not interested in fads or gimmicks. I strive to discover innovative technology around hairdressing and styling, and in turn love to share and educate my clientele and hair industry friends. Cloud Nine not only exceeds my personal brand expectations, but they excel at providing professionals and the general public with the technology in styling tools to create a variety of hairstyles for many different occasions; be it Bridal or Party Hair Looks to London Fashion Week Catwalk Hair to Red Carpet Celebrity Events. It is a very impressive brand!
- How’s your life going? Are you involved in any exciting projects?
My life is going well, thank you! I am known for keeping myself busy but I am definitely juggling a lot over these next few months! As well as being Style Ambassador for Cloud Nine I am currently building The Peachy Studio! It's all under wraps for now but very exciting and I cannot wait to share more. AND on top of that, as if expanding my business wasn’t enough, it's Fashion Week soon! So I’ll be in London, Milan and Paris to work this season. It’ll be my first time in Milan and I just love visiting Europe - like the late and beloved New York photographer, Bill Cunningham once said - “Fashion Week in Paris is exceptional. It educates the eye.”
- What’s your favourite Cloud Nine tool?
My personal favourite tool is the Original Wand - it is so versatile and not only styles the hair well, but leaves a gorgeous finish and quality to the hair.
