Masterclass with The Wand
This week it’s all about curls! See how you can achieve amazing tousled beach curls using our award winning Wand.
Jones & Payne is a lover of Cloud Nine tools and they were kind enough to send us a step by step guide of a look you can easily achieve at home!
This beachy look is perfect to shake off the Winter blues and it’s an easy style to achieve using the Wand or the Micro Wand. Mandy Webb is the expert behind the Soft Tousled Beach Curls style.
After finding her feet in the industry as teenager, Mandy worked alongside Desmond Murray, where she perfected her craft under his guidance. Working on many editorial and fashion shoots built her confidence as a stylist and after expanding her expertise in the West End of London her next step was a move to Australia seeking new challenges. She went on to work with many of the top stylists from down under. Now at Jones & Payne, Mandy is a creative and ambitious addition to the team.
Are you ready to give it a try? This is what you’ll need:
1. The Wand or Micro Wand
2. Hair clips
3. Sectioning comb
5. Heat Protectant Spray
Start by applying a heat protecting spray through the hair.
Using a hair dryer and paddle brush, smooth out any movement in the roots.
Section the hair into four quarters, and divide the back into 2 pieces horizontally (3 pieces for thick hair)
Starting to the left of the nape, take a section about 3cm wide and twist into a rope all the way down.
Using the largest part of the wand, starting halfway down the hair, wrap around the wand, directing away from the face.
Hold for 5 seconds, then let the hair fall from the wand and leave to cool.
Continue process along each row, remembering to direct hair away from the face.
Fix each row with hairspray before starting the next.
When starting the sides, start to wrap the hair around the wand, getting closer to the root the nearer you get to the front.
Once the curls have cooled, using a wide-toothed comb, or fingers, loosely comb through the curls to separate. Add serum to hands and gently run through ends to tame any fly-away hairs. Shake head slowly upside-down and fix with hairspray if needed.
