How excessive heat damages your coloured hair.
At Cloud Nine we are on a mission to empower everybody with the ability to achieve healthy, yet fabulously styled hair. We know that your hair is as unique as your fingerprint. Everybody’s hair is different and therefore reacts differently to heat. Whether it’s fine, coarse, pixie short or Rapunzel long, you need to be able to choose the heat best suited to you to avoid excessive damage.
As you (hopefully) know by now, using excessive heat on your hair causes damage to the cuticles, but something that you may not know is that it can also drastically affect the colour. We’re talking especially to all our gorgeous blondes and pastel babes here, as unfortunately, you’re the ones most at risk. Using a high heat on colour treated hair can literally strip the colour immediately from your beautiful tresses. To demonstrate, we toned some wefts of hair blue and used our Original Iron on 150 degrees, alongside a competitor's Iron at a much higher heat. The results are shocking!
As you can see the colour is immediately stripped from the hair when the higher heat is used. So what does this mean for you and your styling? Using a lower temperature will not only reduce damage, it will also help maintain the longevity of your toner. Less fade = less frequent visits the salon = more £’s saved!
