20 FROM DUBLIN
MODEL/INFLUENCER

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’ve never been in love. What better place to have a tunnel vision and really finding your one? It’s the perfect atmosphere, you don’t have the outside world distractions. It looks like time moves fast in there in a good way –
it’s like, do you actually like me or not? In the real world it’s so wishy-washy. With this, it’s just, you need to know.

Tell us about your job
I model beauty, hair and fashion.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
Definitely a lot of vibrant energy. I’m the bubbliest person in the room.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
Confident would be the top thing that everyone says about me. Chatty, I am chatty once I’m comfortable around you. I can be shy at times if I don’t like the energy. I do pick up on energies a lot. I don’t like confrontation. I am a very fiery person but I would never start something just because. If I’m confronted then I probably would get fiery. I don’t bother
people if they don’t bother me.

22 FROM WAKEFIELD
MODEL

Why have you signed up to Love Island?
I have the worst luck, ever, with boys. Genuinely the worst ever. I always get dragged into the same circle of boys. So I was like, I need to go in another direction.

Tell us about your job
I shoot for loads of different brands. It’s literally the best job ever. I’ve been doing it full time for two years.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
Liam. He’s just beautiful. He’s 6ft6 for a start, he seems really old-school, like a gentleman. And he’s basically the same age as me. He’s perfect. Other than that Teddy or Toby.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
I’m just going to get in there, see how Liam actually is feeling about Millie really and then reassess. I’m definitely not one to lay it on thick. I’ll just do a bit of flirting and see how it goes. That’s the whole aim isn’t it? If I go in there and I really like Liam I’ll have to step on Millie’s toes. If all the boys are coupled up you will be stepping on toes. If I could get away with not having a conversation I probably would as I hate confrontation, but if I need to I would.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I’m really a positive person all the time, bubbly. I think I’ll spice things up. I think I will step on a few toes which will be interesting. I hate boring people. I can speak to anyone. The whole time I’ll be chewing someone’s ear off. That’s my coping mechanism, I just talk.

kaila troy

28 FROM DUBLIN
INTERNATIONAL DJ

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
Real life dating has not been doing me any favours at all. I’ve had it.

Tell us about your job as a DJ
Work is fun. Before the pandemic I was DJ-ing everywhere, all around the world, really fun exciting, very fast-paced, meeting a lot of iinteresting characters. I’d be around a lot of different artists in the industry. I love the energy. Sometimes it is hard dating as I am travelling a lot.

What are you looking forward to in the Villa?
I’m really looking forward to meeting everybody and finding somebody. I’m really intrigued and excited about who I’ll meet in there.

Are you competitive?
I am very competitive. I wouldn’t have gotten where I am in work and my career if I wasn’t prepared to have a little drive and oomph in me.

How would friends and family describe you?
My friends would say I’m very energetic. Never got into drinking, was never my thing, but I’d be the one up all night still and they’d be falling asleep. They’d say I was very outgoing and hardworking for sure. What I want I go and get it. Independent, too. And caring and loving.

Do you have a party trick?
I think my party trick is I’m the DJ and kind of the life of the party. I create the party.

amy day

25 FROM SURREY
PERFORMER

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’m clearly not very good at dating myself. I’m looking forward to the experience and the potential of finding someone I might not have met.

Tell us about your job
I sing, dance and act. When I work on a cruise ship it’s very beautiful costumes, stunning and just feeling glamorous all the time. To be able to perform and make a salary – I’ve been very lucky. I acted in one episode of Humans. The dream is the West End – or Hollyoaks! On the West End Wicked is a classic – that would be the absolute dream.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
I’m just going to see what the vibe is. So we’ll see.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
I am a girls’ girl, massive girls’ girl. But obviously I’m here to find love. So I would let them know I am interested and then gauge what they’re feeling as well. I will step on toes if needs be, but that’s obviously not my aim. But they might also realise what they had was just because that’s all they had.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I definitely bring fun. I’m always being stupid. Like Faye playing the egg game – I’d get people up. I’d say let’s play this game, I’d be in the pool.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
Fun, don’t take anything seriously. I don’t get knocked back easily, I’m always like this is what was meant to happen. I’m positive and also a really good friend.

What’s an interesting fact about you/something people should know?
My parents are both performers in the West End. I’m just used to it. I’ve come from a very, very performing family. I’ve kind of been surrounded by that my whole life.

clarisse juliette

23 FROM LONDON
BRAND OWNER/INFLUENCER

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’m bored of hugging my pillow… it’s time to find a boyfriend. I feel like guys are coming in here to actually find a girlfriend as well.

Tell us about your job
With my jewellery business - I love jewellery - I wanted to create something that’s still affordable. It’s real gold or sterling silver and it looks pretty and expensive.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
Teddy - he’s tall, confident and smooth. I don’t like horrible, cocky guys. If they are honest, that’s what I’d prefer.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
It’s about getting to know them more. I’m going to try to talk to all of them and see what they’re saying about the current situation. I’m a good judge of character so I’ll be able to judge with what they say and how they act with the other girls.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
Fun, some comedy. I’m bubbly and loving.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
Goofy, intelligent, independent and outgoing.

What’s an interesting fact about you/something people should know?
I worked in a financial advisor’s company for three years. I do love a bit of maths. And I have a tattoo under my bum. I wanted it to say ‘Love Life’ in Spanish. But it actually says ‘God’s gift’…two totally different things.

lillie haynes

22 FROM SOUTH SHIELDS
TRAINEE ACCOUNTANT

Why have you signed up to Love Island?
Usually I’m very loyal and I meet one guy, date him, date him only and then I end up being his girlfriend and it never works out. So I wanted to meet loads of different people that I wouldn’t normally come across and date them all essentially and then pick who I like from that bunch rather than sticking with one and rolling with that. So – variation!

Tell us about your job and how your colleagues would describe you
I was always maths and science based at school, I was more natural at that kind of thing. I followed my passion route originally, which was dancing. And then I realised I should probably go back to my natural capabilities. I liked the sound of finance and accountancy. My colleagues would describe me as a lovable headache. I’m very loud, I’ve always got a new story to tell in the office.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
I’ve definitely got my eye on Jake. He’s 100% the type of boy I would go for at home. It’s too good of a match not to just go for. Liam is definitely a dark horse for me, he’s like James Bond when you look at him, absolutely gorgeous. So he could be a very close second.

Will you step on toes to get what you want?
I love a challenge. I’m just going to be myself. I’m quite cheeky, naturally flirty, make it clear what I want anyway. If I get the signals of ‘back off, I’m sleeping outside by myself’ then I will…i’m going in there to date people I don’t usually date. I will explore other options. I’ll make it clear that I’m going in for that. I don’t mind stepping on toes. I’m there for the same reason they are.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I’m a harsh person – I just say things how they are. If a girl’s crying over a boy I’m not going to sit in pity. I’ll give her the right advice, but I’ll say, ‘Toughen up, you’re here for a reason, stop
wasting your time.’

How would your friends and family describe you?
Very ‘get what I want’, I have no filter at all. If I want something I’ll be the first one out there, trying it, doing it and I’m not scared to take risks.

harry young

24 FROM GLASGOW
CAR SALESMAN

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’ve been single for a year and a half and previously went through heartbreak and I’ve had a bit of fun as well. Obviously, COVID then hit so I haven't had the chance to date. It was through Tinder that I signed up. Over the past year it was easier to start off an initial conversation online because pubs and clubs were closed.

Tell us about your job
I’ve been a car salesman for about three years. All you do is speak to people, I love it. You’re having banter all day with customers. As long as you can relate to a customer and have a laugh with them, you’ve nearly sold them a car by that point. People buy off people, as long as you get that connection with the person, you’ve sold the car.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
Kaz has always been in my top three. But once I’m in there and speaking with people, it could change.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
You need to do it, don’t you? It’s part of going in there. People will potentially be coupled up so if you want to get what you want and or if you have a connection with somebody, you’re going to have to step on toes or ruffle a few feathers.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I’m that type of person, if I’m on a night out or at work, I’m there for a laugh and the banter. People say they can hear me before they can see me.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
It would be different between my mum and my brother! My mum would say I’m a kind, caring person and my brother would say I am daft and loud! He knows the stories that don’t enter my mother’s ears [laughs]. Two different verdicts on me but both of them would say I’m confident and a people person.

What’s an interesting fact about you/ something people should know?
I’m a qualified football referee and I hate cheese!

medhy malanda

24 FROM BELGIUM
(NOW LIVES IN LUTON)
AMERICAN FOOTBALL
PLAYER/MODEL

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’ve been single for 4 years and I love a good challenge. I love temptation so I thought why not?

Tell us about your job
I’ve always been an athlete and been into sports. My whole family is into sports. Modelling just came about, I never wanted to model but people said I should try it and that it could go hand-in-hand with sports. I thought ‘Why not? Give it a try.’

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
Definitely Kaz. Kaz’s personality is fiery, she’s got energy, she’s funny and she’s got a beautiful smile and she’s a nice girl in general. And Millie seems like a nice girl and she’s obviously good looking as well.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
Stepping on toes is not even a question! It’s part of the game, if you’re not happy to have your toes stepped on then don’t come to the show; especially when it comes to Casa Amor. I’m here for that.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I am a happy person, I’m a lot like Kaz. I’ve always got a lot of energy. I’m genuine and loyal. That’s how I am.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
They would describe me as a bubbly, happy person who is always making noise and always annoying someone! But I’m always trying to be funny and wanting to be around people. And a very loyal person.

What’s an interesting fact about you/ something people should know?
I speak four languages, written and verbal. I speak French, Dutch, English and Lingala. I wish I paid more attention in school when it came to Spanish as I’d then have that as well!

matthew macnabb

26 FROM BELFAST
STRATEGIC MARKETING
CONSULTANT

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
The main thing is the adventure, it seems like a really fun thing to do.

Tell us about your job
We started a marketing consultancy at Christmas time and it took off really quickly. I originally did law as my undergraduate and I’ve worked in investment banking and I did a masters in business administration. I was working in California for a year and a half. I came back without a job and I started this company with some other marketing consultants.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
I won’t have much of a problem with that. The guys haven’t known the girls that long so it’s not really a huge issue. I’m sure if they have a problem they’ll approach me.
What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I feel like I’m pretty chilled and very adventurous. I’m very laid-back in the sense I like to laugh and I don’t care too much about what people think.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
My family would describe me as very relaxed and laid back, positive and optimistic. And my friends would describe me as very adventurous and very positive.

What’s an interesting fact about you/something people should know?
I’m 6ft6”.

24 FROM GLASGOW
BARBER

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
It’s something different. I’m the kind of person who is super chilled. If I meet someone then that would be amazing. But I take everything as it comes. I’d like to meet someone I like and can move forward with, but I’ll just take it as it comes.

Tell us about your job.
I’m a barber. I’m actually self-taught. You need a lot of people to practise on and who don’t mind you giving them a bad haircut. There was a quite well-known barbers in Glasgow that I wanted to shadow and learn how these guys cut hair. I worked there for about two years and then I created my own studio and started up myself.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
I like Faye’s attitude and personality. I feel like we would get on.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
It is what it is, isn’t it? I’m not a bad guy who is going to steal somebody’s girl. But if I want something then I’m going to pursue it. I would go about it all in the right way. Everybody would be well aware of what I was doing.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I feel like I’ll get on with everybody.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
I always want to see the best for everybody. I’ve got a small group of friends, my family is really tight. If somebody needs something, I’m always there to give them a hand.

What’s an interesting fact about you/something people should know?
I think most people know I’m mixed race. My dad’s half Turkish, half Scottish. So I’ve got a wee bit of Turkish in me. My mum’s Scottish. And I’m a massive geek. I love sci-fi movies, I love gaming, I love watching anime. I have a full anime sleeve, that’s how much I like it, I’ve got it tattooed on my body. I really like Japanese culture.

Jack Barlow

26 FROM EAST SUSSEX
RACING DRIVER AND COACH

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’ve been single for about two years now. To be honest, I'm ready to meet the one. Not necessarily get married at this age but just experience life with somebody and start a new adventure. We’ve all been deprived of a bit of adventure over the last year.

Tell us about your job.
I started racing when I was 12-years-old. It started off as a bit of fun and I took to it really quickly. By the time I was 15 I was British champion and racing all over the world. My go-karting career took me off into car racing. I had an accident when I was 19 where I fractured my T9 vertebrae so my career expanded - it wasn’t solely just being a racing driver, that is when I started doing more ontrack
driving coaching and stunt driving.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
I’m very much a connection type of person so I’ll be able to tell more in person. From what I’ve seen and going off their energy, Chloe has been top of my list. It’s been nice to see her be herself and not care what anyone thinks. I think she’ll be a lot of fun.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
I’m naturally a respectful guy so even if I needed to step on someone’s toes, I’d go around it in a respectful way. I appreciate that I'm going into Casa Amor so I don’t have that opportunity but I’m there for myself and I’m trying to find love. My competitive nature will come out when I’m there.

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I’m there for genuine reasons. I thrive off of people’s energy and I know there are quite a lot of big personalities in there. I’m excited to meet everyone and bring a bit of new flavour in.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
My friends and family see two different sides to me. My friends see a jokey, outgoing and adventurous type of guy. My family sees an independent, reserved guy and I get my head down and work really hard.

What’s an interesting fact about you/ something people should know?
I love travelling, I don’t mind getting on a plane by myself and going on holiday by myself or disappearing to another country and experiencing life. I also love magic - I’ve got a huge obsession with it. I know a few card tricks myself.

23 FROM CLITHEROE
MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

Why have you signed up for Love Island?
I’ve always watched the show. I’m definitely ready for a relationship, I’ve had my fun now.

Tell us about your job.
I’m a maintenance engineer. I’m fixing massive machines on a huge scale, day-to-day doing different stuff. Getting down and dirty with it [laughs]. I absolutely love my job.

Who have you got your eye on in the Villa?
They’re all stunning girls. I’m open to getting to know them all really.

Will you step on toes to get who you want?
That doesn’t bother me. I’m happy to step on someone’s toes to get what I want. If that’s what I’ve got to do, I’ve got to do it. I am looking forward to meeting the boys as well, I’m a proper lads’ lad. I see myself getting on with the boys as well - it’ll be good to meet some new people and get a few bromances going!

What do you think you will bring to the Villa?
I’m going to bring a lot of excitement and energy. My personality will show that - I’ve got the chat.

How would your friends/ family describe you?
My friends and family would describe me as confident, sometimes too confident for my own good. Cheeky, fun and exciting!
